DockATot is to only be used in a supervised setting, and fully assembled. It is not to be used in baby cots, bassinets, baby beds, travel cots, baby bouncers, co-sleepers or other types of baby furniture or contained area.

When placing baby in the Deluxe+ Dock, baby should be placed on their back, with their head towards the top/head end of the dock and feet towards the buckled end. Baby should be positioned more towards the foot end of the dock with the buckle closed as this will give the baby a comforting sense of reassurance by feeling the closed tube with their feet. It also prevents the baby from wiggling downwards. As required, the buckles can be unclipped once they outgrow the closed length of the Deluxe+ Dock.

Q. Is my baby too big for the Deluxe Dock?

A. In our experience and for most cases if your bub is within the recommended age range, the answer to this is a resounding ‘no!’.

One of our trademarks – ‘Reinventing the Womb’ – indicates that the DockATot is supposed to be snug. Our experience is that parents seem to think the baby has outgrown the Deluxe size way before baby is uncomfortable.

When looking at the fit of your DockATot Deluxe, the length of bub really doesn’t matter, as our Deluxe Dock has a buckle at the end that can be unclipped for those taller babies. Width-wise, the padded sides of the Deluxe Dock mean it can squish out a few additional centimetres: baby’s shoulders touching the inside edges of your Dock does not mean it is too small.  Check out our sizing info for exact dimensions.

Q. Can I purchase the Grand from the start?

A. We really don’t recommend this. The smaller deluxe size is designed for younger babies (0-8months), so if your bub is within this age range, we’d always recommend the Deluxe size as being best for bub. This is not just because of the larger size of the Grand, although that factor does play a part, as younger babies will feel less secure without the snugness of the Deluxe size, but also that the Grand Dock has softer sides, which is less supportive for younger bubs.

We understand that you want to get the most out of your Dock for as long as you can, and the good news is that a lot of parents continue using the Deluxe size after the 9 month mark – check out these bubs of different ages in their Docks for a visual representation of sizing (and a dose of cute).

Q.  Can I use my Dock in a crib or similar?

A.  No. We take safety seriously, and using a Dock or similar baby lounger in a crib or other enclosed space runs the risk of bub getting trapped between the sides of the crib and the Dock. For safety, it’s recommended that Baby’s sleep space for the first year should be bare – meaning there should be no blankets, pillows or other objects (including our Docks!) in baby’s sleeping space. Our Docks should only be used on a flat, stable surface, and away from walls or other vertical surfaces, and should never be used in a contained area (such as a crib, cot, or bassinet).

Q. My baby is rolling over in the Dock – can I leave them, or do I need to reposition them back onto their back?

A. Globally prominent safety guidance is that a baby should only be placed on their back to rest until they are one year of age. Because babies may fall asleep anytime, even unexpectedly, aside from tummy time, we advise that babies less than one year of age always be placed on their back in the dock for lounging.

Paediatricians advise that once a baby is capable of rolling over from back to stomach, and stomach to back, the baby can be allowed to rest in the position that the baby assumes. We recommend that parents place their baby on their back and allow their child to choose their position once they are capable of rolling from back to stomach and stomach to back within the dock.

A healthy tot of over one year of age may be placed in the dock however they prefer.

As always, we recommend you also check with your paediatrician about the best practices for your baby’s stage of development.

Care instructions and safety information are located on the bottom of each dock. Please refer to these when caring for your DockATot.

It is important to ventilate your Dock regularly, and ensure all parts are fully dry after washing before reassembling and using.

Disassemble Dock to constituent parts (outer cover, pad, inner sleeve, and inner tube) and wash according to specific part directions.

Wash with similar colours. Wash in garment bag for protection. Unless otherwise directed on care label, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not bleach, do not dry clean

NZ orders are shipped with DHL Express or DHL Global Mail Packet Plus, depending on size

Returns

We offer change of mind returns for eligible products within 14 days of receipt of goods, for Australian orders. Please note that a $25 restocking fee will be deducted for all customer returns.

Exchanges/store credits/refunds are not eligible for sale items (this includes sales run using discount codes, and sales with marked discounts on our website).

Due to the high customs and freight charges we absorb when sending orders to NZ, it is not possible to accept returns or exchanges due to change of mind from NZ. This does not apply to faulty products.
