After seeing so many people rave about the DockATot, I was anxious to get my hands on one as well. Hopefully, this DockATot review will help you decide if it’s the right purchase for you.
The DockATot Deluxe is made specifically for babies 0-8 months. It has many, multi-functional uses however, the number one thing it’s used for is to give a baby a safe place to lounge throughout the day.
Let’s go through some of the features and functions of the DockATot Deluxe.
The DockATot Deluxe can also be used as a nappy changing station as it provides a safe and convenient spot for baby. It wasn’t something I originally thought to use it for but it totally works! Right now the baby is still sleeping in our room but the changing table is on his dresser…in the nursery. Instead of getting up and leaving our room in the middle of the night, leaving the DockATot at our bedside and simlply picking up and moving it to wherever we need is extremely convenient and sleep saving. The DockATot is fully removable and washable, changing a dirty nappy isn’t much of a concern as it can be easily cleaned.
While we obviously haven’t traveled yet with the baby, I can see how practical the DockATot Deluxe would be for a trip. With its lightweight and portable design, it can easily be stored for a long car ride, hotel stay, etc. Since the cover is removable and machine-washable it also makes it a practical choice for traveling. You don’t have to worry about bringing any unwanted germs home if you just remove the cover and put it in the wash. Lucky for us my in-laws only live a few blocks away. I plan to take this over there whenever we go so that I have somewhere safe for the baby to lounge. 5 blocks aways isn’t exactly traveling, but you get the gist.
The DockATot water-resistant travel totes also make traveling a breeze. They’re sleek and stylish and pack up the DockATot perfectly. The totes are great not just for traveling, but can also be used to protect your dock when at the beach, park or the pool!
Since the cover of the DockATot is removable it’s really easy to clean. Although the inner tube fits snug inside the cover you can easily zip it in and out. I washed mine before the first use and then had to wash it the very next day because the baby threw up all over it. It was just as easy to get the inner pad back in as it was to get it out. Being easy to clean is a blessing. Most baby products always seem to be such a pain in the neck to put together, take apart, etc. A few weeks ago when we were trying to get the car seat assembled it literally took us hours (and watching some youtube videos) to get the canopy back through the fabric. Not fun.
While I can’t speak on how the DockATot Grand works for bigger children, I CAN say that the size and feel of the DockATot Deluxe is perfect for a newborn baby or one that is 8 months old. It is the perfect for Anothony to lounge while I'm getting a few things done around him as it’s snug and comforting, giving him the feeling of being in the womb again. Lately, I’ve been putting him in the DockATot when I’m getting dressed or cleaning up the playroom.
The DockATot is incredibly easy to move around the house. This makes it a really convenient thing to have for things like changing nappies, as mentioned above and when getting ready or cleaning the house. The DockATot is lightweight and has a small handle at the top and side making it a great option for when you’re going from one room to the next.
Overall I’m really loving the DockATot Deluxe with my baby! If you’ve been contemplating getting a DockATot Deluxe for your little one I would definitely recommend it. The convenience factor alone makes it so worth the investment!
